Assistant Warehouse Manager - Atlantic Tire Distributors

Job Title: Assistant Warehouse Manager

Summary:

We are seeking a self-motivated Assistant Manager to join our team at Atlantic Tire Distributors in our Charlotte, NC location. This exciting opportunity offers the ability to join of one the most successful, respected, and growing companies in the wholesale tire industry.

Starting Salary Range (dependent on experience):

$40,000+ (not including profit sharing program, which is in addition to base salary)

Shift:

5:00am-2:00pm Monday-Friday (hours may vary as needed)

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the General Manager to oversee daily operations, including the efficient receiving, stocking, and distribution of all inbound and outbound products.
  • Act as the General Manager in their absence, ensuring seamless continuity of operations.
  • Support all warehouse functions and delivery processes to maintain optimal performance.
  • Lead orientation and training programs for new Associates ensuring they are well-prepared for their roles.
  • Supervise and manage ongoing in-service training for warehouse Associates, fostering continuous improvement and skill development.
  • Perform monthly truck inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Conduct spot audits to verify the accuracy of orders being loaded for outbound deliveries.
  • Facilitate effective communication and information flow between all company departments to enhance collaboration.
  • Oversee and manage preventative maintenance and repair service for delivery vehicles and warehouse equipment, ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned to support the overall success of the team.

Basic Requirements:

  • Proven ability to motivate and inspire team members to successfully complete assigned tasks.
  • Strong understanding of product flow and logistics within a distribution center.
  • Proficiency with contemporary software, methods, tools, and technology used in distribution operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively follow and convey instructions.
  • Superior time management and organizational skills, ensuring efficient task completion and workflow management
  • Minimum of one-year supervisory experience, demonstrating leadership and management capabilities.
  • Education: High School diploma or GED required; additional education or certifications a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Skilled in operating heavy equipment, such as order pickers and forklifts.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 100lbs.
