Assistant Store Manager - Commercial Service Tire & Auto Shop

Location: Charlotte, NC

Colony Tire Corporation is currently seeking a full-time Assistant Store Manager to join our Charlotte, NC team! Summary: The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in the overall operation and performance of the store, with a focus on driving sales, controlling costs, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role helps lead, motivate, and develop team members to achieve high standards of service and operational excellence. The Assistant Store Manager will assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager and perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service by greeting and assisting customers and responding to customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Direct and manage employees engaged in sales, inventory-taking, reconciling cash receipts, or in performing services for customers.
  • Monitor sales activities to ensure that customers receive satisfactory service and quality goods.
  • Inventory stock and reorder when inventory drops to a specified level.
  • Assist other staff handling difficult and complicated sales.
  • Enforce safety, health, and security rules.

  • Communication - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Customer and Personal Service - Including but not limited to customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Sales and Marketing - Including but not limited to marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
  • Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, leadership skills, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others.
  • Service Orientation - Actively looking for ways to help people.

Work Environment:

The job is typically performed in an indoor environment however exposure to outside weather conditions is not uncommon. The employee may be required to stand for long hours while working at the service counter, stools may or may not be available. The employee must regularly move or handle merchandise through the store generally weighing 0-50 pounds.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent as well as a minimum of two years experience at a tire/auto repair facility are required. A two or four year college degree is preferred but not required.
